The internship program at the Honorary Consulate of Malaysia in Bulgaria was launched in 2021 and is ongoing, accepting students from majors such as “South, East and Southeast Asian studies”, “Korean Studies”, “Chinese Studies” and other majors from the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology at at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. The Consulate also accepts students from other faculties and universities, presenting an opportunity for anyone with a desire to gain work experience and knowledge of the Southeast Asian region.

The internship lasts 180 working hours, which can be adjusted according to the students’ availability. Through consular work, they can acquire organizational and communication skills, learn to handle documents and Microsoft Office programs, and have opportunities to communicate with other institutions, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Malaysian Embassy in Bucharest, Romania.
